So much hate on my dash tonight. Seriously, I get that Moffat isn’t the best writer, but god dammit.
I personally enjoyed the 50th Anniversary episode. It had a few problems of course, but it was still fairly good. At the end of the day, while Moffat is to some extent trying to please the Doctor Who audience, it’s still his damn script. He wrote that story, and at the core of it is what he believes is the best direction for the show.
He’s a fan of the show as much as any one of us, and he’s living out his own personal dream, actually deciding the fate of a character he idolizes. He’s not going to please everyone, but his story is what makes him happy, and I will defend that right until the day I die. Complex story lines, rewriting history, using quotes from historical figures in ways that social justice bloggers dislike, what the hell ever. This show is a huge part of every Whovian’s life, and it kills me coming on here and seeing the amount of hate that it receives.
Criticism is awesome, outright hate speech is not.
