Top Text: “WE DON’T STOCK THAT ITEM.”
Bottom Text: “CAN YOU CHECK?”]This happened yesterday.
I work in a store that sells greetings cards and various gifts. We also stock gift cards for various other stores and websites. A couple came in looking for a “Sponsor and Alpaca giftcard, our daughter saw it in another of your stores, and its on your company website.” I politely informed them that, in my almost three years, of working in the store, I’d not seen this gift card so I was certain we did not stock it, and that not all stores carry the same stock. I even checked with other staff members that were with me, and they all said the same. I also informed them that we have no way of checking what stock we carry, which is a royal pain in the ass I have to say, and that as it was the weekend, our head office wasn’t available to contact to find out…
They still insisted I went into our office and checked our system.
